Hello!

I have some old ATCs I made some time ago that never quite made it to anyone else. I was wondering if anyone else with a stock of old ATCs would be interested in a blind trade- which is pretty much when you exchange addresses and send out a mystery card.

Of course, you can always list themes you are not interested in before the trade is finalized.
So, I'm really bad at running a group. At least, blog updating.

I keep forgetting about the monthly blog, and I really don't have any material for them, anyway.

Though I do want to at least point out that there is a trading group in need of more members. Also, it's Pokemon related. If you make tradeable Pokemon items (cards, paintings, craft, etc.), I'd say to take a look and help it grow!

First Up... The monthly theme!

There were four cards submitted that fit the monthly theme for August, which was Sharks:
ATC SharkWeek by drake22ice:thumb475673474: ATC SharkWeek2 by drake22ice:thumb475896068:

We hope to see more entries for September- which is themed for Getting Out of Your Comfort Zone!
By this, we mean that you should try new things. Go for the things that are more difficult to draw. Try new techniques, subject matter, colouring, etc. If it makes you struggle, that's a good sign! A sign of improvement! We won't judge here. :)

Second... How many of you are on the two main ATC sites? Other sites?

Of course, I am talking about ATCs for All and Illustrated ATCs. ATCs for All is a site that welcomes artists of all styles and levels. Illustrated ATCs is a juried site- you have to apply to join. On both sites, my username is Ainslee.

Are there other sites for trading ATCs? I've tried looking, but kept getting linked to either those two, or artists' personal galleries.

Third... Would you be interested in group-arranged trades?

Repost: To promote trading within the group, would anyone be interested in trying out a monthly match? Anyone who would would merely comment on a journal I would later post, and then I would use an online randomizer to create the pairs. They would be due to be mailed before the end of the month.
A few people were interested, but I'd like to throw this up for discussion again before I actually consider doing it.

Fourth... As always- suggestions?

Do we have any user-suggestions for the group?

Fifth... Regarding comments.

I forgot that in order to view comments on these journals, I have to actually check the group page. So I may not get back to you immediately, and I apologize. If you want, you can "tag" or "mention" me in the comments, by using the : devantleraptor : (without spaces) or @ Antleraptor (without the space). I'll likely see them quicker. If not, it's fine and I'll try to remember to check daily. :)
Heya!

I totally meant to update this on the first, but I was working as a camp counselor and there was absolutely no way I was doing this on my phone. Can you imagine how frustrating that would be? No, thank you! I actually got home from camp on the third, but, uh, I forgot to post this. Sssh. I'm a responsible adult. I swear. As I have Lucky Charms for dinner... Don't judge me.

First Up... The monthly theme!

No one submitted for the July monthly theme, so I've got no thumbnails to share. No big deal- we're a small group! We'll hopefully get some submissions for this month, which the theme is...

Sharks! To celebrate Discovery's annual Shark Week, the theme for August is sharks! Big sharks, small sharks, real sharks, fictional sharks, cute sharks, ugly sharks, whatever you want to make!

Second... HUGE art supply sale!

I know, I know, it's not 100% ATC-related. However, I felt the need to post it. I got a Dick Blick catalog in the mail today- there's a GIANT sale going on! On top of the sales (which, for some items, are upwards of 60%), you get free shipping and an additional 20% off orders over $99 for a limited time- which is a pretty fantastic deal.
They have an international phone number, so they may ship internationally. I'm not sure, so don't quote me on that.

Third... Would you be interested in group-arranged trades?

Hi, all!

This is our first update, and because of that, as well as that we are a small group right now, this will be a relatively short and sweet update.

First Agenda... Monthly theme!

Every month, there will be a theme. This theme is simply for fun- there are no contests, etc. regarding the monthly theme. The entire point of it is, should you be having a bit of a lack of inspiration for that month, you can go right ahead and make a card, then submit it to the Monthly Theme folder. All cards created for the theme of that month will be featured in the monthly update for the following month (ex. If you entered the January theme, your card will be featured in the February journal.)

The theme for the remainder of July is... Summer fun!
For this, as long as it's related to summer, you can go right ahead and add it into the card. Beaches, fireworks, picnics, ice cream, camping, whatever you can think of!

Second Agenda... User-submitted tips and tricks!

This section would be for any art-creating tips noted to the group by users. If none are submitted, I'll just grab some links.

Third Agenda... Suggestions?

Is there anything that you as members would like to see done with the group? Feel free to comment here, stop by our chatroom and post them if a Mini-Mod or higher is in, or note them to the group.

See? Told you it'd be short and sweet!
